Simon Trickett, currently Chief Executive for Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICB, is now leading the newly formed ICB Cluster, comprising NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB and NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire ICB.
This Cluster will be responsible for planning, purchasing and overseeing NHS services for nearly 2 million people across the combined localities.
Simon brings over 25 years of senior leadership and Board experience in Local Government and NHS commissioner and provider organisations, including the previous 10 years as a Chief Executive of five different CCGs and the Integrated Care Board in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Commenting on his new appointment, he said:
“I feel privileged to take on the role of Joint Chief Executive for the two Integrated Care Boards. This is a challenging time for the NHS with rising demand, persistent health inequalities, and sustained pressure on our workforce and resources.
“Bringing together the two Integrated Care Boards will allow us to focus even more resources on frontline care and to better deliver the goals set out in the 10 Year Health Plan to improve health and wellbeing, while ensuring that we don’t lose the local focus and accountability that are essential to meeting the unique priorities of every one of our communities.”
Simon takes up this permanent position immediately, having been acting in the role on an interim basis since September 1st. Philip Johns, the current Chief Executive of Coventry and Warwickshire ICB stepped down at the end of August, following his decision to not take part in the recruitment process for the joint Chief Executive.
