NHS Community pharmacy Bank Holiday arrangements

Seeing a pharmacist is often the best first step for minor health concerns, and they can provide one-to-one, confidential consultations for you and your family.

While some pharmacies in Herefordshire and Worcestershire close on bank holidays, some are open during specific hours. A list of pharmacies in Herefordshire and Worcestershire that are open over the Bank Holiday is available below.

You can also find a pharmacy local to you here: pharmacy finder on NHS.uk

Your GP surgery is likely to be closed on bank holidays so if you use prescription medicine, it is important that you order any repeat prescriptions you might need in good time. In general, try to order repeat prescriptions seven days before they are due. Please see below if you require an urgent supply of a regular medicine because you have run out.

If you are going away for the weekend – don’t forget to take your prescription medicine with you.

All information is correct at the time of publishing however some opening times may be subject to change so please check in advance of attending the pharmacy if you need to.

You can ring NHS 111 and ask to discuss a limited, emergency supply of a medicine. This must be a medicine you use regularly through a repeat prescription. You will be able to select from any of the open pharmacies to pick your emergency prescription up, once agreed by NHS 111 services.

Please note, you will not be able to use this service if you have new symptom, think you need antibiotics for a new problem, or your medicines are controlled drugs that require indentification to collect.

Information on the emergency prescription service can be found here :Emergency prescriptions - NHS 111
