MMRV Vaccination Update

Children under 6 are now being offered the MMRV vaccine instead of MMR as part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme.

This replaces the existing MMR vaccine and adds protection against chickenpox, alongside measles, mumps and rubella.

Chickenpox is very common and can sometimes lead to serious complications, so vaccination helps reduce the risk of serious illness as children grow.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will be in touch when your child is due.

Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations

Campaign overview: The Flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine (seperate vaccinations) helps protect against the illnesses which, to some people, can be serious or life-threatening. It's offered on the NHS every year in autumn or early winter to people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from Flu or Covid. 

The materials on this page cover both public facing communications, and internal communications aimed at healthcare professionals. All materials promote the Flu vaccine, while the COVID-19 messages has also been added to the comms for those who qualify for that vaccine as well. (You will see that the campaign materials for the 75+ cohort, and those living with Long Term Health Conditions both contain information for both Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations).

The public facing communications are at the top of this page, with messaging for health care professionals further down. The materials for healthcare professionals include digital screens and email signatures, as well as the social media/interal comms assets.
