The service provides assessments and recommendations to home environments to ensure children and young people under 18 years of age are able to:
- Get in and out of their homes.
- Be as independent as possible at home, for example with bathing and toileting.
- Be cared for safely where others assist with personal care.
- Support children and young people’s safety at home with the least restrictions possible. This is often a multi-agency approach due to the significant complexity and variety of challenges present that warrant specialist referral.
- There is also lots of good advice and support including safety in the home on the challenging behaviour foundation website.
