Hundreds of thousands of people across the UK are living with some form of diabetes. That’s why, as part of Diabetes Awareness Week (12-18 June), health leaders across Herefordshire and Worcestershire want to make everyone is aware of the support that’s available so people can live well with the condition. 

If you’ve been diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes, managing your condition is important. By leading a healthy lifestyle you can reduce risk of further complications. That’s why we recommend that people make use of the MyType1 Diabetes resource.  

MyType1 Diabetes is a free online platform that can support you to live well with the condition. It offers tailored advice and resources created by NHS experts and people living with type 1 diabetes. It’s a multimedia hub that has videos, leaflets and an e-learning course… So get online, head to www.mytype1diabetes.nhs.uk and start using the programme today. 

Children and young people with Type 1 diabetes, and their families, will be able to use the DigiBete App and website to access a wide range of awareness, education, training and support resources 

Healthy Living for people with type 2 Diabetes is an online programme clinically proven to help participants live well with the condition. You can access information and advice at home, work, or on the move… So, if you are over 18 years old and have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, start the Healthy Living programme today. www.healthyliving.nhs.uk 

In addition to these online programmes, please speak to your local Practice in Herefordshire and Worcestershire about a range of free diabetes education programmes that are available to help manage your condition.
